Picture this, its the day before Xmas Eve, its sunny and cold .. a little frosty but perfect,
I arrive at the Old Kent Barn to the smell of mulled wine and cinnamon sticks, its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas
But the genius behind Emma & Jim’s winter wedding is that it isn’t “christmassy” in the traditional sense, elegant baubles containing commemorative printed feathers are the favours at the tables, crystal and silver sparkles amongst the crisp linens and delicate sages of the floral displays
The effect is stunning, its all welcoming and luxurious and fits beautifully amongst the oak beams..
Vintage glamour, old school hollywood comes to mind when I see Emma’s beautiful outfit, its classy and effortless.
Its off to the ceremony through busy streets of last minute shoppers, people wave and point at the wedding car, christmas cheer is infectious.
When the choir sang carol of the bells in the candlit church it was magical, and before long Emma & Jim were Mr & Mrs . Congratulations !
We return to the warmth of the Barn to the choir singing carols and guests are served hot chocolate & mulled wine.
Its cold and a little wet but we find shelter in the gazebo
A winter wedding is not for everyone and you have to be willing to sacrifice a little photo time as the sunsets early, but the rewards undoubtably beautiful.
